Stephanie-Lynn Russell - Aladdin

stephanie-lynn-russell-aladdinOnce upon a time there was a young girl name Stephanie-Lynn who danced, sang and performed around her house to the delight of her family. When she was in her eighth year her grandfather took her to her first rehearsal in a pantomime called Dick Whittington and his Cat, where Dick Whittington was portrayed by a young woman. At this tender age Stephanie-Lynn and her family realized that she was destined to become an actor.

She attended the University of Guelph where she received her bachelor’s degree in Theatre Studies and Anthropology. She was also introduced to her first professional stage performance. She followed her heart to Northern Ontario where she continued her education in Science Communication, but the call of the stage and the big screen were too strong and she travelled back home to answer it.

Stephanie-Lynn has appeared in numerous Canadian Indie films, a number of staged shows and performed in several Renaissance Faires.

This show is particularly special to Stephanie-Lynn, an adult who began her career as a child in pantomime. She is pleased to play Aladdin as a legacy to the first show she ever performed in.

She would like to dedicate her performances to her Grandfather who recently passed and who gave her the chance to find out her passion. To her Mother and Grandmother who give her strength on a daily basis. To her paternal grandparents who help her to believe that there is true lasting love in this world. To her father who is happy to show his pride, and to the rest of the family for understanding the creative mind and process, and finally to the audiences who take their time out of their day to come and be entertained.

Andy Capener - Won Long Pong

Andy CapenerAndy moved from the UK 3 years ago and so brings a tremendous knowledge of pantomime to the Canadian stage.  A recent treader of the boards here in Canada, Andy has quickly built up an impressive portfolio of appearances including Sleeping Beauty (not the beauty), Beauty and the Beast (also not the beauty) and Rumplestiltskin (is there a beauty in Rumplestiltskin?).  He even has, as he describes it, a proper “grown up” role in a British farce to add to his growing list of credits with Caught In The Net.

Andy is excited about appearing alongside a talented cast and crew where once again he will not be playing a beauty (talk about type-cast).  He is looking forward to playing the bumbling idiot Won Long Pong as he considers this a role where he doesn't have to stretch himself too far.  His family have commented on the appropriateness of his characters name but the cast and crew is not sure what that's supposed to mean, and they're not sure they want to find out.  In the real world, Andy is in the financial services industry... ooh, listen to him!  Obviously he's not averse to stretching himself then!
